Hendrik Sangster, who designed twenty Dutch water towers between 1923 and 1945. He had his own style that was much appreciated. The water tower of Aalsmeer is seen as one of the most beautiful in the Netherlands.

This month we are gathering on the bright Saturday at noon next to the open beach restaurant. with the accompany of seagulls flying and people who are surviving the above waves, we step into the monthly topic: How to build an international brand?

What does international Brand mean?

Think globally and act locally, but you need to localize your brand, if you have a dutch company, you already conquered the market, you go to China, and still use the same value. it won’t work.

Because they have different values. you don’t need to change the product. but you do need to localize the offer. good international brands, understand the local culture. and the way they sale and the way they treat their customers. Know your products or service value and the value needs to be aligned with the brand.

What are the steps for SME companies to build an international brand?

Build the 5 elements(Product, Promotion, Place, price people) consistently. there are 2 ways to look at it.

Brand philosophy(the DNA of the brand) and the product concept(what are the concept of the product that emerges the accent of the brand philosophy) Let’s look at the example of Google, ‘unlock the world information’ is google’s brand philosophy, their products unlock the world information.

Google owns a lot of cables in the sea to connect continents and connect people and unlock the information. You have google search, google ads, everything they do is merged with the philosophy.

Products every time you need to start from the beginning, is the products align with brand philosophy, make it simple, but need to consistent.

The key message: what is the key message, to whom, and how to communicate.

The price: is the price high or low, does the price reflect the purpose or not. the product at beginning cheap or expensive. if you want to make products like apple, the ideal behind apple is more completed. if you sell a yoga mat, you don’t have big philology, but just the lowest price. But you can still be the biggest one of it.

Place( Channel) some of my clients sell the products to China, they sell anyone at any price, just to reach the sales target. what happens, people see different prices on the internet, they don’t trust the price. what happens, they choose the other channel.

Then you innovate, you have the systematic approach to improve the 5 elements. it is like a wheel if you too much focus on price, place, or people. You need to be in balance, just like yin-yang, you need to be in balance, apply the western methodology and eastern philosophy. there is no correct way, no Chinese way or western way, the world is international, we need to collaborate.

但怎样建立一个品牌体系? 不走弯路? 少花所谓的广告成本呢?

什么是国际品牌?

全球化的思维定位和本地化的品牌定位。

如果你有一家荷兰公司,你已经征服了荷兰甚至欧洲市场,你来到中国,仍然使用相同的定位方式,结果当然是不会奏效的,这是因为客户有着不同价值观。

您无需更改产品,但您确实需要进行本地化市场定位。

一个好的国际品牌,能够了解当地文化,以及销售方式和客户喜欢接受的形式。

再来,要了解您的产品价值,使产品价值与销售者的品牌认知保持一致。

中小型公司打造国际化品牌策略?

围绕5 个元素(产品、促销、地点、价格,客户)+持续的打造+两种思维模式。

品牌哲学,他等于品牌的DNA和产品需要传达的概念(作为品牌哲学重点出现的产品的价值是什么,或产品价值怎样印证你的品牌哲学?)。

让我们看看谷歌的例子,“解锁世界信息”是谷歌的品牌理念,他们的产品解锁世界信息。

再看谷歌的例子,“解锁世界的信息”是谷歌的品牌理念,google 的系类产品也是围绕这个理念来开发传承的。

他们是这样做的:

谷歌在海上拥有大量电缆,用于连接各大洲、人和信息。

无论是谷歌搜索,谷歌广告,他们所做的所有产品都与品牌哲学所结合。

产品

每一次的产品研发都需要从头问自己,这款产品在设计中是否符合了品牌的理念。

推广

推广的关键信息是什么,向谁传达,以及选择什么渠道传递?

价格

价格是高还是低,价格是否反映了品牌哲学?

产品开始定价可能选择实惠型还是高价?比如苹果的系类产品,苹果产品背后的理念与逻辑错综复杂,他们的定价策略会完全不一样。

但如果你卖瑜伽垫,也许没有太多的背后定价体系,而选择低价抢占市场占有率。这样也不会妨碍你成为市场第一。

地点(渠道)

有一些欧洲客户的产品销售到中国,在定价上随意,在客户定位上不明确,只是为了达到销售目标。

会发生什么,人们在互联网上看到不同的价格,客户会不相信这家公司的价格,甚至选择另一个购买渠道。

最后要提到的是,在锁定5个品牌元素后,简化它,并且持续的经营,在经营中注意平衡,不能今天在定价上,明日在产品上,这5个元素入一个轮子,平衡后才能开始滚动,就像中国的阴阳,应用西方方法论和东方的哲学。品牌打造的路上没有唯一正确的道路,没有中国的道路,也没有西方的道路,世界是国际化的,合作才是真理。
